Top 3 of the best surf spots:
- Toiny beach is strongly discouraged for swimming and for good reason, the currents there are extremely powerful! You won't find crowds of tourists or even beginners here, because it's THE essential surf spot in Saint Barth for insiders. Located on the wild coast, the beach of Toiny is often deserted, only frequented by a few surfers who come to rub shoulders with the waves and downright impressive rolls.
- Anse des Cayes is a very wild beach. Located north of St Barth, it is divided into two parts: one rocky and popular with surfers, the other lined with white sand and popular with swimmers and lovers of idleness. As its name suggests, it is covered in part by cays, clumps of coral, sand and bird droppings which directly influence the wind from the coral reefs and the tides.
- Lorient beach located in the north of the island is the essential surfing spot in Saint Barths. This is where most competitions and events related to surfing take place. At the edge of the water it is possible to swim in peace or to take advantage of the small natural pools formed by the tide, offshore, surfers take advantage of beautiful waves and successions of rollers, each better formed than the other.
